Leaving my job at AT & T was not something that I planned to do
It's not easy having to say goodbye to a boss as wonderful as you.
Our auspicious beginnings can now make me smile,
when I met you in two thousand five
You hired two people and then called me back,
for the next three and a half years I would thrive.
You're extremely demanding we both know it's true
and you have a critical eye
But you're fair and you're honest and most important of all,
you make sure morale remains high.
 You taught me a lot, kept me on my toes,
and great chemistry between us prevails
In comparison to all other jobs that I've had
every other work experience pales.
A great sense of humor, personality, wit
amidst being serious we'd also have fun
As your admin. assistant in tandem we'd work,
we found a rhythm to get the job done.
Then came the acquisition with AT & T,
where as a manager you'd really shine
You watched out for your team, and put people first
while attending to the bottom line.
It was a privilege to be there to work by your side
as a new company came into view
This challenging time, you were a master at work,
as the political structure you maneuvered through.
When I let you know that I had to leave,
your generosity came to the fore
You let me stay on the payroll, and work by remote,
from a boss who could ever ask for more!
Once its time for the beta of your software to launch,
I'll be there cheering on its debut
The miles between us no difference they make
to your company I'm faithful and true.
My replacement I'm training, we're both feeling sad,
but life happened and I had no choice
I'll be watching the news and wish you every success,
with each triumph you'll hear me rejoice.
